Product Configuration

The stainless steel finned heating element uses a strong tubular component as the structural basis. The fin material is continuously spirally wound around the surface of the element to increase the convective surface area for air and non-corrosive gas heating. Fin spacing and size were tested and selected to optimize performance. The steel fin unit is then furnace brazed to bond the fins to the sheath to improve electrical conductivity. This allows a higher wattage level to be achieved in the same flow area and produces a lower sheath temperature, extending the service life of the finned heater element. For higher temperature or more corrosive applications, stainless steel fins can be securely wound around the alloy sheath. Application conditions such as vibration and toxic/flammable media should be considered when installing finned heating elements. Protective coatings can be used for fin heating elements in mild corrosion or high humidity applications.
