Product Applications

The refrigerator defrosting heating cycle is initiated on a timer or through an adaptive control system. Over time, when the refrigerator is running, frost and ice build up on the evaporator coils, reducing their efficiency. When the defrosting cycle begins, a signal is sent to the defrosting heater, which is usually located on the evaporator coil. The defrost heater is made of conductive material that generates heat when an electric current passes through it. Once started, the defroster heater starts to heat up. The heat generated by the defrosting heater heats the surface of the evaporator coil, melting the accumulated frost and ice. When the ice melts, it turns into water that drips down a defrosting drain or pan and eventually evaporates. This process removes frost from the coils and ensures that they can effectively cool the refrigerator.
